RUDI VAN DER MERWE

Celestial Spunk

Celestial Spunk is a solo for a body that is mortal, sexed and cultural. Helium-filled balloons form a constellation around the protagonist, serving both as costume and stage design. The balloons integrate the dancer’s body through strategic piercings and provide an incentive for travel via a series of celestial impulses.
