GENETRIX

Genetrix is a collaboration with company József Trefeli built around an original idea by Victoria Chiu. A collective work in which three choreographers each present a 20-minute solo inspired by their connection with one of their grandparents. The stage has video screens on three sides creating an immersive experience.

I chose my maternal grandmother Christina Margaretha Russouw born 12.02.1916 deceased 28.02.2017. The solo evokes her memory against the backdrop of big events from the 20th century.

The solo has been reworked as a film and is currently in post-production.
