I’d like to save the world, but I’m too busy saving myself explores the different roles and qualities of the individual in the midst of a demonstrating crowd. The demonstrating crowd is a gathering of persons united in protest, who aim to have an impact on the course of history. This humorous pas de deux takes a closer look at the issue of political engagement in a contemporary western society. The dance is inspired by the anonymity, the joy and energy of a shared protest, the heroism and the suffering of the faceless crowd in a political rally.
